Hello guys! Welcome to another one of my reviews. This time we are going to talk about the second movie that released this week. Yes, I'm sorry, it is Bollywood again! We are going to be talking about Shubh Mangal Savdhan, starring Ayushmann Khurrana & Bhumi Pednekar. It was directed by Rs Prasanna & produced by three production houses namely, Eros International, Y NOT Studios, and Colour Yellow Productions.
Not that we are done with all the useless information people don't bother to read, let's get right into the movie, shall we? Let me just start by saying, with the movies that released this week, this is obviously better than Baadshaho. Well, I can't help that as Baadshaho set the bar way too low.
And the story of this movie, is a rather unusual one as it works around the problem of erectile dysfunction and how talking about it is still such a huge taboo in India. While we are on the topic, I feel it should be okay for people to talk about it and openly state what is going on with them as it is nothing to be embarrassed about. Coming back to the movie, it was a really cute story line of how these two people have been eyeing on each other, but none of them really had the balls to take a step forward to get to talking, so instead Mudit (Ayushmann) sends an online marriage proposal to Sugandha (Bhumi) and leaves the whole process of falling in love out of the picture. But, this wasn't taken well by Sugandha and she decided to live the lovers life before they get married. While all this goes on into somewhat a cliche story, Mudit one night while they were getting intimate for the first time realised that he couldn't achieve an erection. And this is where all the problems start from! I am not going to tell you more and spoil the whole movie for you guys because I want y'all to check this movie out. It is worth it!
The movie was not only about a taboo topic, it also had it moments when it came to humour which were pretty good. And there were so many things that happen in the movie that are going to be relatable for a lot of people, which I found to be a really good thing. It did have a little bit of fiction, like the jump in the climax sequence, but then again, it is a movie, so you have to expect a little bit of fiction. Rs Prasanna couldn't direct it in a way that would be better, he has been able to translate the story pretty well. There were some flaws but all of them can be over-looked as anyone would enjoy a movie.
I'm sure Ayushmann would be delighted to see that finally he's getting a few hits for himself. Not only did Bareilly Ki Barfi do well, but this is also going to do splendid. Yes, can't say it is the best movie, but it is way over average and people will like it for sure. And Bhumi, she's been choosing some amazing movies, and we all know what a great actress she is, so I look forward to her next movie.
So let's get to the crux of the matter which is that this is a movie you should invest your time in for the weekend. Do avoid watching Baadshaho, not worth your valuable two hours. And that's it from me this week, I will be back next week with the review for Logan Lucky, starring Daniel Craig, a movie that I have been waiting for since a long time now. Anyway, its goodbye now from TakeMyView™ and we hope to see you here again next week for some more great content and reviews.
